Growing steadily with new investments globally, Şişecam is making its first European glass packaging production facility investment in Hungary.

Şişecam Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. Ahmet Kırman, Şişecam CEO Görkem Elverici, Chief Production Officer Abdullah Kılınç and Invesments and Business Development Director Selim Kalkan met with Peter Szijjártó, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Karoly Szita, Mayor of Kaposvár to discuss the establishment of the two-furnace glass packaging plant in Hungary.

Announced in June this year, the first furnace of Şişecam’s first European glass packaging plant investment is planned to start operating in 2023 and reach full capacity by 2025. Once complete, the facility will have an annual net production capacity of 330,000 tonnes. Şişecam’s Kaposvár plant will respond to the growing glass packaging demand of both Hungary and Europe across a wide geography.
